Hi all:
That time of year is coming fast and you will want to get those out of office messages ready. With the new email server you can set things up ahead of time and tell the server the dates and it will start and end automatically on those dates. So now that I have your attention and you are quite excited let me tell you how to accomplish this.
Entourage (mac users) - under the tools menu there is an item called "out of office". Select that option and begin filling in the blanks. You will want to include "send replies outside my company" as well.
Outlook (pc users) under the tools menu there is an item called "out of office assistant". Select that option and begin filling in the blanks. There is a tab for "inside your company" and "outside your company" which is nice to be able to fill in separate messages.
http://owa.mit.edu in the upper right hand corner of the screen is an options button. Select the option button. A menu will appear on the left side. One of the items is "out of office assistant". You can follow along and change your settings. If you already changed the settings in Entourage or Outlook the owa.mit.edu should reflect those changes.
